  • Ruby Willcox-Goodisson
Senior Registered Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing)

Ruby joined the team in 2011 after completing her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing at CIT. On top of working full time at the clinic, she is studying part time online to complete her Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (General Practice). Ruby lives in Weston Creek with her mischievous brown Burmese Cedric, as well as her grumpy three-legged Netherland dwarf rabbit Apple-Fresh.

She recently participated in a trip to the Northern Territory to help provide essential veterinary medicine for dogs and cats in the indigenous communities out near Utopia. This was an amazing once in a lifetime experience that has inspired her passion for this kind of volunteer work, and she hopes to do similar work overseas in the future.

  • Rachel McNamara
Senior Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing)

Rachel joined the nursing team here in early 2010 after completing her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing at CIT. Rachel is an incredibly caring nurse who has a special place in her heart for cats. These days Rachel has a preference for the administrative side of her job and is always on top of keeping the clinic organised!

She lives with her extremely spoilt 20-year-old domestic shorthair cat named Molly. Outside of work Rachel enjoys spending time with her friends and loves anything Harry Potter related!

  • Jessica Walton
Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing)

Jessica joined the team in 2011 and graduated from CIT with her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2012. She works part time with us here, ensuring that she has maximum time at home to devote to her beloved pugs Abby, Chino and Priya whom she affectionately refers to as “The Beige Brigade”. Jess is a caring and calming presence for all who work with her, and she always has time to cuddle patients and ensure their comfort while in hospital.

  • Bella Lomax
    Trainee Veterinary Nurse

Bella joined our team in 2017 as a work experience student, studying at CIT to complete her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. She was such a hard worker (not to mention a lovely person), so we quickly snapped her up and offered her a position in our team. It wasn’t long before she was offered a full-time job.

Bella has a special way of making even the most nervous and timid animals comfortable and is an integral part of the nursing team here at WWAH.

She lives in Tuggeranong with her two beloved cats Juno and Max.

  • Alex Smith
    Registered Trainee Veterinary Nurse

Alex joined our nursing team in March 2018. As well as working part-time with us, she is currently studying online and has almost completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. From day one Alex has been a quick and keen learner and has gained many new skills and knowledge in her short time with us. She is always open to new experiences and learning opportunities.

Alex has a passion for cats, participating in (and organizing) as many cat shows as she can, and has even begun a Bengal breeding venture with her family.
She lives in Tuggeranong with her domestic short hair Nala and bengal Echo.

  • Marc Beresford
    Trainee Veterinary Nurse

Marc joined our team as a kennel hand in July 2015.  Marc’s passion and understanding of animals has seen him become an important part of our team. He has a talent for becoming best friends with even the most timid or upset patients. Over the last few years Marc has progressed to working inside the clinic and is currently study online to complete his Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.

In his spare time, Marc has a passion for music and plays bass guitar in a metal band that performs regularly in Canberra, Sydney and surrounds.

  • Zoe Kirwan
    Trainee Veterinary Nurse

Zoe previously worked as a hairdresser (you’ll notice because her hair colour changes almost weekly!), but joined the team here in July 2018 after doing work experience with us for her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing at CIT. Zoe is keen to learn as much as possible and is one of our hardest working employees. Her dedication to her job and her love for all animals will see her become an incredible vet nurse in the near future.

Zoe lives with her two dogs Rollo and Arrow, as well as her two cheeky ferrets Rascal and Ragamuffin.

  • Koren Holding
Kennel Hand + Trainee Veterinary Nurse

Koren joined our team as a kennel hand back in early 2016. She was studying at college at the time, but somehow made time to work, hang out with friends AND finish off her year 12 certificate!

Koren is now studying her Certificate III in Animal Studies, in preparation for doing her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. She has a part-time position here at the clinic working as a kennel hand and does one day a week in the hospital in order to gain the experience she needs to get her qualification.

Koren lives at home with her family and their three gorgeous dogs – Chad, Vivian and Nellie.

  • Rhiannon Sanderson
Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing) + Kennel hand

Rhiannon is currently studying her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing at CIT. She began doing work experience with us in 2018 and has recently been offered a casual position as a part of our animal care team. Rhiannon currently works in our kennels, as well as in hospital to gain the experience that she needs to finish off her qualification.

Rhiannon is an incredibly hard worker and is very keen to learn all she can. She is passionate about animal care, reading and has a cute lil’ chicken named Thumbelina!

  • Dr.
    Benjamin Gavazov
    (Honorary Vet)

Ben became a member of our team waaaaay back in 2004, once the clinic had been reconstructed after the bushfires. To inject some much-needed happiness and love into the new clinic, Ivan went over to the RSPCA and brought home Ben and Rene, who have been loved by so many employees and clients over the years. Rene unfortunately passed away last year, but Ben has had time to heal and is now living out his twilight years by happily sleeping, cuddling, and eating as much as he can. Ben is a two-time recipient of the ACT Clinic Cat of the Year Award and is a well-known fixture here at the Weston Woden Animal Hospital.

Testimonials

Fabio wasn’t eating the food I was giving him and I didn’t feel he was getting the nutrition he needed. Thanks to Dr. Anderson, he evaluated Fabio and his current diet to make some recommendations and now Fabio has gone from barely eating to finishing his meals and he looks healthier than ever. You clearly are an expert in your field...thanks so much!

Tara Brown / Kansas City, MO

I have benefited tremendously from the care my pet received from Dr. Anderson.

John Doe / San Diego, CA

Wow! Thanks to all the staff at Anderson Vet Clinic. I feel like you all truly love what you do! My kitty, Lola and I always have such a pleasant experience when we come in. Fortunately, it’s usually just for a check-up, but I would not leave Lola in anyone else’s hands but yours. Thank you for your caring commitment!
