Dr. Timothy Jensma

Meet the friendly staff at Weston Woden Animal Hospital!

Timothy Jensma

Tim started working with us in early February 2019. He graduated from Sydney University in 2008, his time there included doing some work placements at Taronga Zoo, Melbourne Zoo and Healesville Sanctuary working with lots of amazing exotic and native animals. From there he worked in McKay, Queensland as a new grad and met his wife there too! Luckily both of their jobs allowed them to move back to Tim’s hometown of Canberra where he worked part-time at the RSPCA and gained a lot of experience with wildlife.

From there they traveled extensively, including time in South America, Galapagos, Honiara, Solomon Islands, London (where Tim worked as a vet for three years), Europe, Morocco, Kenya, Italy, Iceland, and Jordan!

They then spent three years in Melbourne where Tim honed his self-confessed coffee snob attitude, ready to bring his expertise back to us at WWAH.

He has extensive experience with fish keeping and high-tech planted tanks and has a good knowledge of fish disease. While Tim is mostly experienced with cats and dogs, he is also comfortable with rabbits, guinea pigs, and rats. Outside of work, Tim makes time for his many hobbies, including repairing coffee machines (luckily for us!) He has no pets because of all the traveling but spends as much as time possible at home with his wife and son.
